Showing no intention of giving up its position as the number one browser company in the world, Microsoft today launched the latest in its Web browsing technology - Internet Explorer 5.
Utilising Microsoft's IntelliSense technology, the creators of Explorer 5 promise to deliver performance improvements of up to 25 per cent when compared to Internet Explorer 4.0.
"We know that customers who used the Internet Explorer 5 beta noticed significant improvements in their browsing experience. In fact in a recent Microsoft survey, over 93 pre cent of respondents stated that they were satisfied with the new simplicity features and found them directly relevant to their daily browsing needs, " Tony Wilkinson, Internet Explorer product manger, Microsoft Australia said.
Apart from simplifying common tasks such as searching and navigation, Internet Explorer 5 features a new Radio Toolbar that will allow users to "tune into their favourite radio station from anywhere in the world allowing integrated access to streaming radio content", Microsoft officials claim.
The latest IE release includes several Microsoft Internet tools and is available on Windows, Sun Solaris and HP-UX operating systems.
