Following its decision earlier this year to try to snare more of the local OEM business, Logitech has announced an extension to its line of OEM mice -- a wheel mouse complete with USB port connection.
But it's the two-button, three-button and regular scrolling wheel mice that Logitech and its OEM distributors, BJE Enterprises and Focal Point, have been promoting with some degree of success.
According to Focal Point managing director Andrew Tilly, they are now selling a thousand at a time, instead of a hundred at a time, as assemblers and system integrators recognise the benefits and value of the brand.
BJE Enterprises managing director Bernie van-t'hof said: "There has been steady growth as more customers have found out about Logitech's OEM range, and there is a growing appreciation by integrators that it's worth using a brand mouse."
The mice feature high resolution (400dpi), Plug-and-Play installation, and carry a one-year warranty.
Happy with the progress of the pursuit of the local OEM business, Logitech's Australian general manager Marco Manera said: "It is in the OEM arena that we have mastered high-volume manufacturing under stringent quality requirements and established a competitive infrastructure to support the demands of this market."
He claimed: "Our pricing meets the needs of solutions providers who realise the competitive advantage of branded accessories but who are extremely conscious of incremental costs."
