Nortel Networks will bring its channel partners up to speed with its push into unified voice-data networking later this month with a training/update event.
Gary Starr, Nortel's channel manager Australia-New Zealand for enterprise solutions, said the three-day seminar, called "Velocity", is open to Nortel's pre-sales and sales personnel.
"The key message of Velocity is unified networks.
"We're bringing a lot of expertise to the table," Starr said, to ensure Nortel's partners are more effective at positioning integrated telephony solutions to their customers. He claimed the goal of Velocity is to update partners on the new directions Nortel is moving towards.
It also aims to provide ongoing training and furnish partners with the tools to sell telephony solutions to their customers.
Starr said Velocity will move through sessions on the "visions and directions" in which Nortel is moving toward in IP tele-phony and unified networks, and will split into two sales tracks designed to cater toward the SME market and the larger enterprise market.
Velocity will be held from April 27 to 29 at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Bondi, Sydney.
