Your ARN April 7 article re Harvey Norman was quite interesting. A posturing by retailers who up until recently have thought the threat of the Internet to be in the distribution chain shows that the pressure is building.
Retail chains such as Coles, Harvey Norman etc must be becoming dramatically concerned about the potential to bypass all aspects of the product chain, especially the retailers.
If Harvey Norman believe that such a threat to its suppliers going direct will hold weight for anything but a short period of time, they're not seeing the train coming.
