The digital revolution continues apace in the camera and imaging zones with some of the latest releases from Olympus being revealed last week, including a "photorealistic quality" portable colour printer.
Having found there is a market for its compact digital colour printers, a new and improved version, the P-330E, has been released with a recommended retail price-tag of $999.
The P-330E will print directly from SmartMedia memory cards or Windows and Mac computers, which eliminates the necessity of downloading to a PC first. It can also print video frames grabbed from a VCR, TV or camcorder while video I/O terminals allow it to act as an interface between SmartCard stored images and a TV monitor.
Compatible with all models in the Olympus Camedia range except the C-800L and the C-400L, the P-330E printer also offers great opportunities for ongoing consumables sales. Sixty-sheet paper refill packs with a ribbon cartridge retail for $59 while sticker paper is also available at $125 for 60 sheets.
In addition to the printer, Olympus has also introduced a new Camedia model, the C-830L, which has improved realism in its display image as well as new styling and convenience features.
Other developments from Olympus include the availability of water- and dust-proof Aqua Cases for the C-830L and C-840L models, while SmartMedia cards of up to 32MB are now available. Olympus products are distributed in Australia by:
