Xylan today cemented LAN Systems as its exclusive Australian and New Zealand distributor with the announcement LAN Systems will replace the incumbent MasTec International.
David Keane, managing director of Xylan Australia/New Zealand, said the agreement is designed to consolidate the company's regional distribution arrangements.
Keane believes using LAN Systems across the Tasman will give the vendor a good channel grounding in what is otherwise a tumultous New Zealand distribution environment.
He claims Xylan's competitors are having a difficult time with various New Zealand channel players for different networking vendors embroiled in heated debate.
"The market is not benefiting from that," he said.
"As we continue to grow our business worldwide, Xylan has made a strategic decision to focus our distribution with a small number of regional distribution partners," Keane added.
Xylan has signed similar regional distribution partnerships in Europe, the USA, and Asia, while the vendor's Australian channel structure under LAN Systems remains unchanged.
