IPL's Oki Products Australia has introduced its latest LED page printer offering, which it claims is the fastest colour printer in the $7000 price bracket.
The Okipage 8c is described as a business class eight-page-per-minute colour printer for either standalone or workgroup applications where full colour is required, yet inkjets would be too slow.
One of the early Okipage 8c adopters in the channel is Maxwell Business Equipment from Sydney's Rockdale. Maxwell sells and hires a comprehensive range of business printers including Epson, Canon and Brother products. Maxwell manager John Hastings described the Okipage 8c as ideal for short print runs where colour is used for logos or graphics such as pie charts. "It's got a lot of potential and allows us to find niche markets of people wanting small print runs in colour," he said.
"We've had someone trained on the model and have found it easy to transport and set up for our hire service," Hastings added.
According to Oki Products managing director Stead Denton, it's a breakthrough printer using all the benefits of LED technology.
"We are one of the few manufacturers to use our own engine, and no other desktop colour page printer matches the combination of speed, quality and reliability at the price point," he extolled.
The printer can be configured with the optional OkiLAN 510e network interface card and includes OkiView software for Peer-to-Peer, Novell or Windows NT setup.
