Touting its personalisation capabilities as its key differentiator, Internet portal Excite launched into the Australian market yesterday.
Rick Redding said Excite users were 33 per cent more likely to register and customise its service, than those that frequented competitors like Yahoo. Last week, Yahoo Australia launched its customisation service called My Yahoo.
"Personalisation is the key to customer loyalty," said Redding. "Loyal customers access six times as many pages, buy more product and respond to more advertisements."
Excite also boasted about its local content providers which includes AAP, the Seek job agency, Equity World, who will provide realtime ASX stock quotes, and the bureau of meteorology.
