Although scheduled to kick off today, the launch of Hewlett-Packard's direct-selling Web venture, Online Store, is to be delayed by a week, a company official has told ARN.
"HP is doing some customer scenario simulations to ensure that everything is 100 per cent," the spokesperson said.
HP is now expected to open for direct business on the Internet on Wednesday July 7. Sources close to HP revealed that there will be a public launch involving a Sydney FM breakfast radio program.
The details of the Online Store have been withheld by the vendor until it is launched, but it has already been established that, for the initial trial, all orders will be fulfilled by HP's biggest reseller partner, Leading Solutions.
According to the HP spokesperson, everything is on track and they are "most excited about the launch of Online Store".
