APPLIX TM1 ANALYTICS PLATFORM NOW SUPPORTS MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2000 REPORTING SERVICES

Applix Customers Can Take Full Advantage of their Microsoft Investments for Enterprise-Wide Product-Level Reports

SYDNEY—19 MAY, 2004—Applix, Inc., a global provider of Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Performance Management (BPM) software solutions, today announced full integration of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services with Applix TM1 analytics platform. The TM1 business intelligence analytical engine powers a suite of strategic planning, analysis, reporting and performance management solutions used by 1,700 companies worldwide.

Applix TM1 users will be able to use Microsoft Reporting Services to author, generate and disseminate large-volume, scheduled and on-demand reports from TM1-based applications. Additionally, within TM1 Web, users can now view both interactive Web-based Excel workbooks along with Microsoft Reporting Services reports. Enabled by the recent enhancements of TM1’s OLE DB for OLAP support, TM1’s integration with Microsoft Reporting Services is strategic because it increases TM1’s interoperability within organisations standardised on Microsoft platforms.

"With the integration of TM1 with Microsoft Reporting Services, Applix is adding value to our platform and helps our mutual customers improve their business performance,” said Bill Baker, General Manager of SQL Server Business Intelligence. "Applix's integration with Reporting Services highlights the value that SQL Server business intelligence platform can add to our partner's applications."

“Working with Microsoft supports our commitment to further extend TM1 so customers can generate even greater value from their TM1 solutions,” stated Matt Murphy, global solutions architect, Applix. “Combining TM1’s analytics capabilities with the robust features in Reporting Services makes TM1 appealing to thousands of mid-market companies who want to take full advantage of their Microsoft infrastructure for planning, reporting, and forecasting solutions.”

Microsoft Reporting Services is a comprehensive, server-based solution that enables the creation, management, and delivery of both traditional, paper-oriented reports and interactive, Web-based reports. An integrated part of the Microsoft business intelligence framework, Microsoft Reporting Services combines the data management capabilities of SQL Server and Microsoft Windows Server with familiar and powerful Microsoft Office System applications to deliver real-time information to support daily operations and drive decisions.
