UK-based accounting software vendor Sage Group is positioning itself for a major market assault that could see the company capture up to 10 per cent of the Australian business accounting software market over the next two years.
Envisaged and led by John Marshall, managing director of Sage's Perth-based Australian distributor Sage Distribution Australia (SDA), the ambitious market push will be channel-driven, with SDA expecting to triple the number of value-added resellers (VARs) in the coming year.
"We have started this operation in March of 1998 and have since signed up around 70 resellers Australia-wide, but our plan is to increase that number to more than 200 VARs and grow our customer base from 6000 to 40,000 over the next two years," Marshall said.
SDA, who took over the distribution of several Sage products after Solution 6 relinquished their distribution rights a year ago, will distribute the full range of products for small-to-medium businesses, including Instant Accounting 2000, Sage Line 50 and Sage Line 100.
The company is currently actively seeking channel partners willing to use their consulting expertise for the impending Sage accounting software market blitzkrieg and can be contacted on 1800 260 522.
