Expanding its Australian operations, networking vendor D-Link has appointed Melbourne-based BBF as its eighth Australian distributor.
With reseller coverage through offices in Sydney and Melbourne, D-Link Australia/New Zealand business development manager Andrew Mitchell claims the distributor is well positioned to drive the vendor's expanding operations in and around Victoria.
"BBF's strong value added reseller relationships, supported by experienced staff, will be a great asset to D-Link's business as it continues to actively expand its market share," Mitchell said.
Michael Muscat, BBF managing director, says the appointment derived from a strong previous relationship between the companies when BBF distributed OEM products for the vendor. "Having done a good job with OEM products, D-Link made the decision to sign us up," he said.
The appointment follows BBF's strategy of being "associated with good branded products," Muscat said, claiming that while previously forced to import some networking products, the distributor felt this approach wasn't good for its future expansion.
"D-Links' range compliments our existing suite of networking products and offers one of the best ranges of products of this type in both functionality and value," he said.
With D-Link assisting BBF with marketing in Australia, Muscat says the dealer training and other programs offered to BBF as a result of the appointment were also beneficial.
Citing increasing competition in the marketplace, Muscat claims BBF has to offer resellers a "value-add" to the distribution process by attempting to connect the distributor's clients with its suppliers.
