Summit 2005 will be held in New Orleans June 1-3 and will bring together the diverse people that make up the open source community, including community contributors, developers, customers and partners. The Summit will blend different views and content into a program useful for attendees building and enabling open source architectures.

General sessions will be held each morning of the three day Summit followed by in-depth sessions grouped into three main tracks for attendees to choose from:
•Practical Track: 'How-to' sessions led by industry experts will range from building a failover cluster or storage configuration to SELinux policy management.
•Technical Track: Interactive sessions will feature topics such as performance optimization, Fedora Project, open source technology trends and high performance computing clusters.
•Business and Current Issues Track: In-depth discussions on issues shaping the open source computing industry, such as its role in government, international expansion, intellectual property and volunteerism.

“The Summit is truly a user-driven event. It is an opportunity for open source users to thoroughly examine relevant choices for their infrastructures,” said Michael Tiemann, Open Source Advocate at Red Hat. “Users who have made the decision to deploy open source will be brought together and given a deeper, richer understanding of the implications of their technology decisions and how to scale those choices to the next level.”

The Summit will have an attendance fee of $999, which will include registration, three-night's accommodations and meals. Details on specific tracks and speakers will be available this fall. To learn more about Red Hat Summit 2005, please visit http://www.redhat.com or call 866-2-REDHAT.
