SAP runs for replacement CEO

SAP Australia has appointed former PricewaterhouseCoopers executive Chris Bennett to replace Tony Harris who resigned from the position of CEO for Australia and New Zealand just last Thursday.

Bennett, who will also take the position of executive vice president for SAP Asia-Pacific, is due to begin his new role on June 1, according to a SAP spokesperson.

Bennett brings to the chair more than 10 years experience in ERP consulting at PwC. In his most recent roles he was partner in charge of ERP practice -- the SAP practice and the application outsourcing and ASP practice across the Asia-Pacific -- and global leader of SAP methods and tools.

Les Hayman, president and CEO of SAP Asia-Pacific, will manage the day-to-day operations of SAP Australia in the mean time.

According to SAP, Harris resigned "to pursue opportunities outside of SAP".
