WebIntelligence gives point of entry

Touting its capability to provide a single point of entry for viewing business intelligence, Business Objects this week rolled out the next generation of its enterprise query, reporting, and online analytical processing (OLAP) tool, WebIntelligence 2.5.

The key addition to WebIntelligence 2.5 is a business intelligence portal called Infoview, said Ceferino Lamb, a senior product marketing manager at Business Objects. Infoview provides a searchable report catalogue that includes Web report viewers and can be used with WebIntelligence or the company's full client-reporting tool, Business Objects.

WebIntelligence also provides features designed to allow greater customisation on the client side, including a customisable user interface. The features allow the solution to be deployed with minimal IT interaction and at lower cost. Pricing for WebIntelligence 2.5 will be available when versions for Windows NT and Sun Solaris begin shipping in June.

The HP-UX and IBM AIX versions will be available in the second half of the year.www.businessobjects.comREALbasic 2.0 for MacThe latest version of REAL Software's visual object-oriented development environment REALbasic for Mac OS is now available in Australia.
