Reseller Macquarie Corporate Telecommunications is on the cusp of ramping up its data service offerings, planning to announce today at Now99 a strategic partnership with Lucent Technologies.
David Tudehope, Macquarie's chief executive, said the partnership supports the company's drive to become a "total solutions provider" by offering corporate Australia access to managed data solutions from network design to the selection of carrier data products, hardware installation and network management.
"In addition to our own data products, we offer Telstra and Optus data products, and we partner with market leaders such as Lucent for hardware and equipment," explains Tudehope of Macquarie's network management strategy.
Lucent's position as Macquarie's data network supplier provided the basis for the present arrangement, according to Tudehope who reports the company selected Lucent for its "technical solutions and management abilities, as well as international and local capabilities in carrier markets".
Coming immediately after Macquarie launched its own three-tier data service solutions the Lucent partnership will further facilitate Macquarie's plans to partially float in the second half of the year.
