Candle Corporation has announced a strategic partnership with Cognos, which will enable Candle to deliver a flexible interface to its Response Time Network (RTN) product.
The announcement, nutted out in the United States, will see Candle integrate business intelligence vendor Cognos' data access and reporting tools PowerPlay and Impromptu into Candle's Web site and network monitoring solution.
RTN also tracks transactions across heterogeneous platforms, helps companies establish and comply with service level agreements, provides capacity planning information and monitors application performance.
"Candle offers overall performance monitoring of clients' Web sites, from a customer point of view. Where Cognos fits in is that its business intelligence software enables Candle to present this information to customers in a more flexible way," said Phil King, Candle's business partner account manager, Australia New Zealand.
The effects are "yet to be judged in Australia", said King but there are a number of potential benefits to mid-range system integrators who will be able to offer a Web site monitoring application as part of an end-to-end BI solution.
