Entertainment vendor Diamond Multimedia Systems has expanded its existing relationship with distributor Ingram Micro Australia to include its full range of products.
Initially appointed as the Australian distributor for Diamond's Micronics motherboard products in October 1998, Ingram will now disseminate the multimedia and game vendor's audio and graphic accelerators, modems, HomeFree wireless networking solutions and the Rio suite of portable MP3 players.
"Diamond and Ingram Micro have a close relationship not only in Australia, but also within Asia and the United States," said Pieter Vandershaar, country manager, Diamond Multimedia Systems. "Ingram Micro understands our business, our products and has a strong reach into the system integrator market. This is the primary growth area for Diamond in the year ahead," he continued.
In exchange for its expertise, Ingram will push Diamond's range of graphic cards, networking cards and Internet applications through the channel.
"Ingram Micro Australia will be actively pursing incremental market share growth for Diamond Multimedia over the next few months and into the year 2000," said Michael Shea, managing director of Ingram Micro Australia.
