Hewlett-Packard has recognised the contribution of its channel partners to its status as the leading Unix server supplier is Asia and Australasia with the announcement yesterday of its Best in Class awards.
Overall 56 channel players were decorated for their efforts in promoting HP, seven of them Australian companies. Resellers include APTEC, Workstation Solutions and Rentals, Centari Systems, Vigil Tech and Leading Solutions Queensland (Kasys). Distributor Tech Pacific and Rising Star Tripoint were also awarded.
"HP's Best in Class reseller program recognises that our channel partners make significant investments to acquire the solutions-oriented sales and technical skills that customers demand in today's competitive environment," said Peter Hall, general manager, Asia/Australasia for HP's solution reseller organisation.
HP judged its resellers on criteria of investment in training, excellent business management and high levels of customer satisfaction. The award winners also exceeded financial goals for sales of HP server products and services.
In return for the channel's commitment HP put on a three day event at Queensland's Gold Coast with the intention of outlining high level product strategies and marketing programs exclusively for Best in Class resellers. HP will also allow the BIC resellers access to HP sales and pre-sales technical support, discounts on HP demonstration equipment, preference in lead distribution and use of the HP Best in Class logo for promotional purposes.
