Released last week, Casio's Cassiopeia E-15 palm-sized com-puter is designed to stamp its authority on the mobile market, offering a faster, slimmer and smarter product than its predecessor, the Cassiopeia E-11, according to the company.
Running on Windows CE, the mobile computer comes standard with a rechargeable battery and an ergonomic design that Casio predicts will be a selling point to weight- and size-conscious executives.
Bundled with the Cassiopeia are software applications including Financial Consultant Calculator, designed specifically for retailing and business, Schedule Viewer, and Pocket Database that is used to find and enter data.
In a networked business environment, the Cassiopeia offers multimedia capabilities and 16MB RAM, memory Casio claims is the biggest in its class.
The E-15 is available now at all major retailer chains and specialist resellers. Smaller retailers can purchase the palm-size PC through distributors Anabelle Bits and Advanced Portable Technologies.
