MS works to squash Office 2000 bug

A new bug has been reported in Microsoft's Office 2000 software that can lead to some users being repeatedly prompted to register the program, according to a company representative.

The glitch might affect all users, the representative said, but users who did not have administrative rights might receive it again when they relaunched the application because they did not have the ability to click through the dialog box.

Microsoft was "taking the problem very seriously" and working to address it, the company representative said. It expected to fix the problem shortly.

While not a major issue, the bug, like many multi-legged creatures of the same name, can be annoying. It does not, however, interfere with users' ability to use the application.
