Who developed it: Twelve companies tendered for the contract, but it was Melbourne-based MultiEmedia that "did the honours" developing the site, albeit in conjunction with Thrifty.

Traffic: On average, the company was getting 58 hits a day through the month of June. MultiEmedia estimates approximately 900 car bookings have been made through the site since March 15, 1999 and is currently averaging around 15 bookings a day.
Price: While the exact cost of www.thrifty. com.au development was not disclosed, MultiEmedia revealed that Thrifty paid over $50,000 for the e-business enabled site.
