In a bid to make the process less technical, Brisbane-based developer Concord Australia and database vendor Sybase have released an intranet knowledge management suite that eliminates the need for HTML knowledge in the process of publishing and maintaining professional intranet sites.
Christened MASTERfile, the suite will provide organisations with an "instant" intranet management tool built around Sybase's SQL Anywhere mobile database platform and point-and-click Windows-based interface that automatically writes its own HTML code, creates links and provides warehousing of the metadata of all resources, officials claim.
"Many organisations invest heavily in their intranets only to see them lose relevance because of high management costs and poor content management," Collin Bell, Concord's managing director, said. "MASTERfile makes the intranet site productive, efficient and cost effective, [as it allows] information to be published regardless of format and without tying up technical resources or hiring outside help."
Available now, MASTERfile comes bundled with SQL Anywhere, with prices starting from $5000 for five seats.
