Who developed it: Melbourne-based Web Design Group poached the Merc from its Sydney-based peer Zivo.

Tools used to develop the site: The Web site was developed in a Microsoft NT/IIS environment using a series of proprietary tools developed specifically for this site.

Development time: Approximately four months.

Traffic: Averaging 36,077 hits a day and totalling 1,082,320 for the month of June.

Interesting facts: The site was developed on a content management tool developed by Web Design Group in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz that allows Mercedes-Benz to effortlessly maintain and manage the site content.
