Riverbed expands WDS community with new user group program

 • 31 January, 2008 12:01

Riverbed Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: RVBD), the technology and market leader in wide-area data services (WDS), today announced the launch of the Riverbed User Group (RVUG) Program. This program expands Riverbed’s customer community forum to provide year-round and regional support. Riverbed will host or sponsor regional forums in which users can share best practices and expertise, as well as exchange ideas and product information directly with Riverbed and each other.

Around the globe, Riverbed users will have the opportunity to participate in presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on labs covering the new features in Riverbed Optimisation System (RiOS™) and Steelhead Mobile®. Riverbed conducted the first in the series last month in the San Francisco Bay Area, where IT professionals gathered to discuss technical issues around WDS and a hands-on overview of Steelhead Mobile and Central Management Console. Based on customer interest, Riverbed and its customers are launching additional User Groups in London, Toronto, Miami, and other regions. Riverbed customers interested in participating or championing regional forums can register online at www.riverbed.com/events/rvug.

"The Riverbed Users Group I attended in Northern California provided a great forum for getting hands-on technical tips for making the best use of my Riverbed deployment, while at the same time giving me insight into the best practices from other organisations that have deployed Riverbed,” said George Ribeiro, network services manager, Openwave Systems Inc. “This is also a great opportunity to network with technology peers in my area."

Bob Gilbert, Senior Product Evangelist at Riverbed, comments, “Riverbed’s community programs are a solid foundation for users to learn best practices and optimal uses of Riverbed products. Most importantly, the communities and gatherings we’ve built, such as the WDS Forum, User Groups and our global ACCELERATE WDS conferences, are most valuable for our over 3,000 customers, our partners and the industry to network and get the latest WDS thought leadership and access to industry experts on the topics that are most pressing to them.”
