Sausage Software yesterday launched its Sausage in a Box in conjunction with Telstra and St. George Bank to target SMEs attempting to build a presence on the Web.
The companies report the product allows SMEs to build a Web site, sell products, securely take order details and credit card numbers from customers, authorise and process credit card sales automatically, and generate e-mail sales receipts and shipping notices.
Sausage CEO Wayne Bos said the product allowed small and medium businesses with little or no Internet experience to use its e-commerce expertise and technology to open their own store on Web.
Prior to its commercial launch, scheduled for early next year, a pilot program is being run between November 8 and January 2000. Participants will receive free Business in a Box software; free telephone service and support; full access to the merchant members section of the Web site and inclusion of their store in the Sausage Mall on the Web site.
When launched commercially, Business in a Box software will cost $495 plus a monthly hosting fee and transaction fee.
