Sirius is hoping for some happy Christmas sales with its Personal Finance Pack, which is scheduled to hit retailers' shelves this week.
The package sees a 56K NetComm Simplicity modem bundled with Quicken 6 financial software, VET antivirus software, a free 100-hour online deal with OzEmail, and Smith Micro fax software.
Sold separately, the bundle is said to be worth more than $600, and carries a price tag of $229.
Sirius' managing director, David Stewart, said: "We have been fortunate to secure OEM bundling deals with Quicken and VET from Computer Associates, which have allowed us to offer this exceptional deal." He said that it is targeted primarily at SMEs, although it will also appeal to some home users.
Meanwhile, the company has reported that sales of its most popular modems have jumped by 80 per cent since the company launched a cash-back offer on October 1.
The deal relates to the Banksia Wave SP56 V.90, the NetComm Roadster II 56 Ultra SVD, and the NetComm Roadster II 56.
"Our cash-back offer will be open for the rest of the century," Stewart said. The top-selling Banksia Wave SP56K had been reduced from $259 to $229, with the cash-back offer bringing the Wave's shelf value down to $199.
"We are closing the gap between our brand-name modems and the lower-cost imports," Stewart claimed.
