Systems integrator Flex Internet Technology has been acquired by Asia Online as part of the Internet provider's strategy to build an Asia-Pacific network of companies which provide end-to-end Internet business solutions.
Flex managing director Charles Assaf said its relationship with Asia Online gives it global branding, credibility and the resources to make its mark on the Australian market. `It gives us the ability to connect the market, the vendors, customers and prospects much more efficiently,' said Assaf. He said it would be bringing its ability to offer end-to-end solutions to Asia Online.
`We saw from an early stage that the corporate sector was looking for com-panies that could really come in and provide end-to-end communications solutions from the desktop right through to wide area corporate networks and Internet services,' Assaf said.
Flex Internet Technology was the result of a merger between Morse Corporation and Flex IT.
Morse was established as a hard- ware company in the early 90s and expanded into providing full network integration services to Sydney's corporate and government sectors.
Flex Internet Technology will now become part of Asia Online and will move into new offices in Sydney's CBD in January.
Asia Online's CEO, Kevin Randolph, said customers were looking for a company that could solve all their Internet communications issues, from supplying a local area network through to giving them an effective presence on the Web.
`The skill set of Flex complements our other recent acquisitions in Australia, to give us a very well-rounded portfolio of Net-related communications solutions and a powerful nationwide customer base.'
He said Flex brought tremendous value to the rest of the group in Australia and New Zealand.
