Oz site expecting Christmas rush

Excite Australia has `relaunched its shopping channel' in an attempt to pick up some pre-Christmas online shopping trade. It reports that a recent survey of 366 users showed that 64 per cent had made an online purchase, with nearly half of them buying goods and services from Australian Web sites.

According to Excite Asia-Pacific marketing manager Joanna Finlay: `Our online research reinforces [our belief about] Australian's eagerness to buy online, and combined with the pre-Christmas season, the climate is ideal to launch the new shopping channel.'
