The Lumix G1 kick-started a new segment in the camera market, which this week saw a new model from Panasonic and the second showing of a prototype camera from Sony.

  Canon partners, customers, suppliers and the media all descended on Sydney's Overseas Passenger Terminal to celebrate 50 years of the vendor's SLR technology in Australia. Over 250 guests took part in the reflexion event, which included highlight images taken on Canon equipment over the past 50 years, as well as cultural memorabilia.
