Data#3 recently held a cocktail function in Sydney to bid a fond farewell to managing director, John Grant, who retires from the top spot after clocking up 33 prosperous years with the business. He joined the business in 1982, hailing from IBM and completed an engineering degree at the University of Queensland before taking up a scholarship with Brisbane City Council. In 1984 the company was renamed Data#3 and in 1997, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Grant was appointed managing director in 1996 and maintained the title until December 2015. Grant's affiliation and involvement with Data#3 will continue through his Chairmanship of the Board of Discovery Technology. He was inducted into the ARN Hall of Fame in 2008.
