Why You Need It: Turntable lets you enjoy music and chat with other listeners in virtual rooms where people up-vote or down-vote tracks that users share. Too many “lame” votes, and a song is skipped; lots of “awesome” votes gives a DJ points for unlocking avatars. The company recently signed licensing deals with the four biggest music labels: EMI, Sony, Universal, and Warner.
