IN PICTURES: 30 years of Fujitsu computing

In 1981, Fujitsu entered the consumer PC space with its first 8-bit PC, the FM-8, and the enterprise market with the FACOM9450. Since then, Fujitsu has continued to innovate to become one of the leading PC brands around the world, as well as the top notebook vendor in its native home turf of Japan as well. Fujitsu PC Australia country manager, Bert Moah, attributes Fujitsu’s success to the four value statements of innovation, reliability, human-centric and green embodied in the company’s PC products. “Our products are all designed with the end users in mind, resulting in innovations that are reliable and eco-friendly,” he said. “These innovations offer users the ability to work and live in a manner that stays true to Fujitsu’s brand promise of ‘Shaping tomorrow with you’ and our strong product quality belief of ‘Built-in Confidence.’” With tablet devices all the rage now, it’s interesting to note that Fujitsu was a pioneer in the segment, having released the world’s first one pound-class handheld computer, the Poqet PC, in 1990, and the pen tablet PC, the Poqet Pad, in 1991.

Fujitsu's 0-Watt PC was first unveiled at CeBIT 2009 in Hannover. A world first, the 0-Watt PC does not consume any power when in off-mode or hibernating while still being administrable
