Despite the company's initial denial, an angry customer has claimed Datacom’s Melbourne datacentre did indeed experience flooding which caused an outage lasting more than 12 hours.
The anonymous source emailed ARN photos related to the incident, including SMSes from Datacom’s network operation centre (NOC) and pictures allegedly taken on site.
Datacom CEO, Michael Browne, said “regarding these photos, I have no reason to believe they have been altered.”
Browne has now conceded he was happy with Datacom’s network operation centre (NOC) describing the incident as “flooding” but would personally refer it as “water damage.”
