Kaseya Announces Next Generation Product Line
Kaseya, the leading global provider of IT systems management software, today announced Kaseya 2, its next generation line of products. The new products will expand Kaseya’s comprehensive feature set and deliver new solutions that make its powerful technology accessible to anyone who needs to manage IT systems.
Kaseya’s new products include Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and on-premises solutions. The SaaS products are designed to meet the needs and preferences of service providers offering remote support, troubleshooting and managed services, the small office / home office (SOHO) user and small- to medium-sized businesses (SMB), by providing simple, affordable options on a subscription basis. Kaseya’s next generation technology also extends to its popular on-premises solutions to meet the business requirements of the small-to-medium sized enterprise (SME), IT service provider and enterprise IT segments.
The Kaseya 2 family of products, which are all expected to be generally available in Q1 2010, includes:
• Kaseya Free – simple, secure and free remote computer access
• IT Toolkit – easy to use set of tools for instant remote access and troubleshooting
• IT Workbench – fast and efficient remote access, support and remediation
• IT Center – proactive IT service delivery through integrated automation
• Small to Medium Sized Enterprise Edition – comprehensive yet simplified systems management in one easy to use interface
• Master IT Service Edition – robust framework for managed service delivery with the widest range of functionality to provide more services with less resources
• Enterprise Edition – complete corporate IT Systems Management through integrated automation
According to Bill Malik, research director at Gartner, “most organisations can improve the performance of their IT management functions, and the larger the organisation, the greater the potential improvement. Having an IT management infrastructure that is truly global in reach can provide significant benefit to multinationals and multi-site regional organisations, improving overall quality of service and reducing support costs.”
Kaseya 2 delivers new features and functions
Kaseya 2 expands the integrated functionality of the company’s core framework, the Virtual System Administrator (VSA). The VSA provides real-time, Web-based IT task and process management, which now includes:
• A streamlined user interface for better navigation and organisation that yields a more productive experience
• An organisational structure for different users, roles and overall system security preferences to better define responsibilities and functions for multiple users in an environment
• Enhanced reporting services, designed to increase internal and external communication
• An upgraded scheduler and Wake on LAN for increased automation flexibility
• New Web service APIs for integration with third-party applications to allow users to create add-ons and augment the management of their entire IT environment
“Kaseya 2 is the result of feedback from thousands of customers and a growing demand in all market segments,” said Gerald Blackie, CEO at Kaseya. “From the enterprise down to the home network, the need for IT systems management continues to grow. Kaseya is proud to offer a wide range of solutions tailored to meet the unique business and technical requirements of a growing and diverse user base.”
Kaseya 2 delivers new applications Kaseya 2 also means the debut of entirely new applications that expand Kaseya’s deep array of systems management modules. These include:
• A configurable, policy-driven service desk that allows ITIL-based implementations, flow of incidents, problems and changes to help facilitate true automation within the integrated platform
• A new Live Connect proprietary application that provides instant access and visibility of remote systems (including a video chat function) in the background, without interrupting a user’s productivity
• A new discovery application that will find all IP-based systems and devices on networks along with basic SNMP monitoring of the devices
Kaseya 2 also delivers additional enhancements to the current application set, such as patch management, agent procedures, monitoring, desktop policy management and desktop migration.
“We’re really excited about Kaseya 2,” said Rob Leon, vice president at InhouseIT. “The new Live Connect feature is going to revolutionise endpoint management and support for everyone. Along with a new interface, added functionality and features, what we thought was great just got even better!”

Market Potential-Strategy Guide to the Active Archive Market
The active archive market is a growing segment where tape is seen as part of a disk or network fileystem. This means that to an end user disk and tape are “blended” and whether file is held on disk or tape is “invisible” to the end user. The active archive market is the fastest growing space in the storage industry and allows direct end user access to tape through a file system front end.
