Sophos announces mobile partnership with Logic Plus

Customers embrace new partnership using Mobile Control, supporting company-owned smartphones with plans for BYO devices

Sydney, Australia, 16 July 2012 – IT security and data protection company Sophos has today announced it has signed a new partnership agreement with Adelaide-based IT solutions provider Logic Plus to be the first managed service provider to offer customers Sophos’s Mobile Control product.

Logic Plus will deploy and manage the Mobile Control solution to customers across Australia, as well as provide direct support through its own help desk. The suite enables the enforcement of a consistent policy across a company’s fleet of mobile devices – such as policing the access of ‘jail broken’ devices onto networks, and assisting in locating, locking or wiping lost devices – all through a central and intuitive dashboard.

According to Rob Forsyth, Sophos Director APAC, the partnership with Logic Plus is the first of its kind for Sophos in Australia and it will provide a strong opportunity to build on its growth strategy in the region.

“This relationship gives Logic Plus’s customers the peace of mind of having a comprehensive security solution deployed across their mobile fleets,” said Forsyth. “It allows Logic Plus to remain ahead of the curve, providing a strategic advantage by offering a solution that is unparalleled in the local market,” said Forsyth.

Simon Parr, Marketing and Product Manager at Logic Plus, believes the agreement meets a growing need in the industry for a robust and comprehensive mobile security solution.

“We’re seeing the opportunities in the mobile protection space grow and the Sophos Mobile control product was the logical choice to add to our offerings. It also made sense given we have a close existing relationship with Sophos – they were early to market with a mobile product, so we knew that it would have advanced capabilities and a high level of reliability,” said Parr.

Logic Plus has seen keen customer interest from the outset and has received positive feedback during the trial period, especially due to the rise in popularity of the ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD) movement in the workplace.

“We see that concerns surrounding BYOD are the key driver of customer interest in mobile device management, so we have plans to extend the scope of Sophos’s Mobile Control from servicing company-owned devices to an all-inclusive strategy that covers devices brought from home,” said Parr. “We see huge potential and interest in this product from organisations with many staff working in the field, or international companies who will be able to rollout mobile device control on a global scale.”

The partnership is now in effect, with Logic Plus currently signing up customers.
