NetApp partner, Envisian, appoints IT sales luminary, Sue Tabor, as Account Executive to develop and strengthen Australian business
MELBOURNE, Australia — January 31, 2012 — Specialist Australian solutions integrator and NetApp Gold Partner, Envisian, today announced the appointment of well-known IT industry sales specialist, Sue Tabor, to the role of Account Executive.
In this new role, Tabor will be responsible for developing and growing Envisian’s existing business, as well as working with new customers to demonstrate the benefits of Envisian’s services. She will be involved in developing sales and growth strategies, and consulting with customers to illustrate how they can reduce business risk and increase agility in the marketplace.
Tabor’s experience includes more than two decades in senior business development roles with companies such Frontline, Commander and Micro Sales. In each of these roles, Tabor was successful in winning, maintaining and growing high-profile enterprise and government customer accounts, including several multi-million-dollar deals.
Her specialty areas include storage, virtualisation, networking, business continuity, public and private cloud, telephony and managed infrastructure services.
Robert Pollock, Managing Director of Envisian, said, “We are very pleased to have Sue on board with the Envisian team. Her knowledge and expertise are highly regarded in the industry and her track record speaks for itself. Because of the outstanding customer feedback we’ve received and the client relationships we have nurtured in the last 12 to 24 months, we’ve set ourselves ambitious growth targets for the year ahead. Welcoming someone of Sue’s calibre into our existing team of outstanding people means we’re looking forward to an amazing 2012 and beyond.”
Prior to accepting the role with Envisian, Tabor spent 15 months on sabbatical.
Tabor said, “It was no small decision to re-join the workforce, because I was enjoying my time out. But when I did my research and spoke to friends in the industry, I couldn’t pass-up the opportunity to work with Envisian. The reputation of the business and its people is exceptional. I was particularly impressed by the fact Envisian chooses to work only with one leading vendor in each space – like NetApp – and they become genuine experts in those technologies, providing real value to customers.
“The services and solutions Envisian offers bring true, transformational benefits to customers, and in short, they are a great group of people. The company and the role were simply too good to ignore. I look forward to working together with Rob and the team to show customers what simplicity and innovation really are.”
Todd Parsons, Director of Channel Sales and Marketing for Netapp ANZ, said, “We would like to congratulate Envisian on Sue’s appointment. Our partnership with the Envisian team is a strong one, because of Envisian’s commitment to working closely with us and knowing our technology in extreme detail. Envisian is a true extension of the NetApp organisation, embracing not just our solutions, but also our values and approach to business. We welcome Sue to the team!”

Aberdeen Group: Building Business Resilience Through Active Archive
One of the key data management challenges organizations often face is how to keep their archived data accessible and active, without spending the time and resources associated with primary storage. The amount of data in the archives can range from one half to 10 times the amount of data actively managed in primary storage. How can end-users gain access to historical files in a reasonable amount of time without pulling IT employees from higher priority projects? Aberdeen's research found the answer in the technologies and processes that comprise active archiving.
Market Potential-Strategy Guide to the Active Archive Market
The active archive market is a growing segment where tape is seen as part of a disk or network fileystem. This means that to an end user disk and tape are “blended” and whether file is held on disk or tape is “invisible” to the end user. The active archive market is the fastest growing space in the storage industry and allows direct end user access to tape through a file system front end.
