Verizon Business Positioned as a Leader in Global Network Service Provider Magic Quadrant

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – 17 March 2010 – Industry analyst firm Gartner Inc. has positioned Verizon Business in the Leaders Quadrant in a new report, “Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers.”1

“We believe our strong track record for delivering global managed services and IP-based business applications sets us apart from the pack,” said Anthony Recine, vice president of network and communications solutions for Verizon Business. “Our network is the essential platform for our ever-broadening array of managed services, including offerings in areas such as infrastructure utility, security, managed mobility and application assurance.”

According to the Gartner report, leaders positioned in the Leaders Quadrant “have a full portfolio of voice and data products, coupled with above-average service and support, wide global coverage, and competitive pricing. They have a strong vision that includes adopting more information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities, which is a strategy they articulate clearly and openly.”

The report states: “This Magic Quadrant assesses suppliers that can deliver fixed corporate networking services worldwide. Services to be provided include wide area network (WAN) services, predominantly managed, including MPLS and IPsec VPNs and Ethernet services, converged voice services, such as SIP trunking and managed IP telephony, and remote access services.” ]

Verizon Business separately announced that it has also been positioned as a Leader in the “Magic Quadrant for Pan European Network Service Providers.”2
