Red Hat appoints Paul Barge to channel job
Software vendor, Red Hat, has appointed Paul Barge as its new partner account manager for Australia and New Zealand.
According to Red Hat general manager, Max McLaren, Paul's focus will be to move more of Red Hat's direct sales to channel business, with the goal being a 60/40 split favouring partners.
Barge has worked in channels throughout Europe with companies such as Creative Labs and spent 12 years working in partner roles with Microsoft.
"Paul has a lot of experience in establishing, and working with business and channel partners," McLaren said.
Red Hat maintains a two-tier reseller model, including registered partners and advanced business partners. It also runs a Consulting Services Partners (CSP) program to help businesses to solidify their collaboration with Red Hat in the channel.
Barge would continue to develop and execute around that strategy, he said.
