LevelOne AMG-2000
Digital Data Communication's new Network Access Control gateway for LAN and WLAN meets the needs of SMB, hotels/motels, schools, apartments and offices/branches. The LevelOne wireless access point (AP) management gateway manages up to 12 WLAN APs over Ethernet; includes an authentication, authorisation and accounting (AAA) server that manages user access and security; and supports up to 120 concurrent users, 500 local accounts and 2000 on-demand accounts. It has integrated functions such as monitoring and reporting, billing, user account management and accesses to other Radius servers. Key features include multiple authentication methods, temporary (on-demand) user account generation, policy-based access control, per-user traffic logging, and walled garden (login portal). Designed to reduce the complexity of small to medium-scale WLAN management, it helps administrators manage distributed access points centrally, provides easy guest access management, and can be integrated easily with existing SMB office network infrastructure.Distributed by Tecksel Australia, Pioneer Computers, HiTech Distribution and CompuWholesale.
RRP: $1669.95
3Com AirProtect Sentry 5850
This wireless intrusion prevention system helps protect the network and users from unauthorised wireless access. Unsecure deployment of Wi-Fi Access Points (APs), or rogue APs, can open up a customer's network to potential hackers, exposing confidential information. Users connecting to incorrect APs - whether internal rogue ones, or those external to your network - may also lead to additional vulnerabilities. Traditional firewalls only monitor wired traffic and have no visibility into the wireless traffic that is flowing in the air. 3Com's AirProtect Sentry 5850 wireless sensor device continuously scans the airwaves and provides wireless intrusion prevention against any unauthorised Wi-Fi activities. It can also be used to disable all wireless access within a customer's premises, helping to enforce no wireless policies. This initial offering is focused on the remote office and SMB customer. The Sentry 5850 is managed via a Web GUI and does not require additional software.Distributed by Ingram Micro and LAN Systems.
RRP: $1275
NetComm HS960
Demand for high-speed Internet access in locations outside the home or office is growing rapidly. The HS960 enables businesses to set up a hotspot location quickly and easily, providing Internet connection for up to 100 users at a time from a single location. The one-box solution is easy to set up and manage. It includes an 802.11g+ (54Mbps) wireless router, 4 port 10/100 switch and a service gateway. The device is also bundled with a special receipt printer and allows you to provide Internet access by time. Users simply type in the required amount of time and a receipt is generated with a unique username and password for the amount purchased. Built-in layer 2 security ensures users cannot see each other. AAA management keeps out unauthorised users.Distributed by HiTech Distribution, XiT Distribution, and Ingram Micro.
RRP: $2035
Nortel Wireless Security Switch 2360
The wireless switch is ideally suited to mid-size office sites or wiring closet deployments. It can control up to 12 access points connected directly to one of its eight Ethernet ports or indirectly through a layer 2 or 3 network. Offering wireless threat protection, the 2360 switch defends against RF attacks. Dynamic RF management, along with user RF performance optimisation, ensures a high-quality user experience. The guest access provisioning feature provides controlled wireless networking for ad-hoc users. It offers seamless and fast network roaming across access points and switches, which preserves voice quality. It also supports WMM (Wi-Fi multimedia), SVP (spectralink voice priority), 802.1p and DiffServ for voice and multimedia traffic prioritisation. Another feature is seamless roaming among all access points, even those controlled by other WLAN security switches. User authentication information and associated policies are shared with other 2300 series switches to minimise delay and jitter. Other features include IGMP v1/v2 support and multicast membership binding for high-performance wireless multicast services.Distributed by LAN Systems.
