Realtech Australia Implements All-in-One for Centrex

Improved stock control cuts warehouse wastage: enhances service responsiveness

Realtech Australia Pty Ltd, the now Australian-owned SAP Global Support and Technology Partner, has announced the successful completion of its assignment to implement and support SAP All-in-One for Centrex (Aust) Pty Ltd. This has resulted in Centrex being able to greatly enhance its stock control and service responsiveness.

Centrex is a privately-owned importer and wholesaler of consumer electronic products with 35 employees. Since its inception in 2002, the company has grown 120 per cent year-over-year and annual revenue now exceeds $50 million.

However, with this growth came challenges. Centrex was previously running a combination of SOHO-level accounting software and other small-scale solutions. As a consequence, stock control was a major problem with the company making suffering value losses each quarter across its five warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth.

Centrex recognised it needed a single integrated system and over a six-month period evaluated 15 alternative solutions. Centrex eventually chose Realtech Australia to implement SAP All-in-One. Among the principal reasons were Realtech Australia's professionalism, experience and responsiveness, according to Bing Wang, Manager, IT, Sales Planning & Operations at Centrex.

"Realtech Australia are excellent people to do business with. Any queries we had were dealt with immediately. I am delighted with our relationship," Wang says.

The new system was implemented over a five-week period with core functionality - Financials, Materials, Sales & Distribution, Service and Purchasing. Following the implementation Realtech remained on board to customise the system and add new functionality.

The warehouses are now held accountable for stock losses, Wang says. Other benefits he attributes to Realtech's advice and implementation include the ability to invoice in one location and deliver to several destinations and a much simplified service response process - the handling of warranty matters, for example, now involves one step instead of three.

Wang added that the system's sales and marketing analysis and reporting capabilities also enable managers to have instant access to information instead of having to wait for reports.
