Unixpac outline a new partner initiative for its Silver and Gold partners

Unixpac has developed a new partner program to help better educate its growing reseller community about security.

Called Channel U Partner Program, the new initiative concentrates on developing relationships with channel partners and training them on Unixpac's product range. The program is designed for Unixpac's Silver or Gold channel partners.

Marketing communication and channel manager, Gosia Luszpinska, said the distributor had nine products.

"Each of them requires a different approach to sale, to promote and to target," she said.

Unixpac will offer certified products specialists and conduct seminars and training based around the main problems IT security people faced every day, Luszpinska said. Training would include Webinars and product presentations.

Unixpac managing director, Tom Piotrowski, said a number of newcomers were interested in the security space. The company had struck a dozen new channel partnerships in the last few months and was aiming for 50-60 more over the next six months, he said.

Luszpinska cited IDC reports which predict the Australian security solutions market will reach over $1.3 billion by 2010. According to IDC, growth will be driven by the continuously evolving threat landscape, the need to secure new and emerging business enabling technologies and the increasing pressure from government and industry regulations among many other factors.
