Citrix grants itX XenServer access
Application software vendor, Citrix, has extended its relationship with itX to carry its XenServer product, giving the distributor access to the full portfolio.
“Virtualisation is part of our DNA, so it’s a critically important part of our product offering,” itX general manager, Greg Newham, said. “We can now supply all of our Citrix partners with the product and training.
“The addressable market is significant and it’s an important addition from our point of view.”
The Citrix XenServer range will be bundled with Sun's x86 and x64 Intel- and AMD-based servers, Newham said. itX joins Express Data in the local distribution line-up.
Citrix partner manager, Dean Vaughan, said giving itX the ability to sell both XenServer and XenApp products complemented its value proposition to customers and partners.
“itX can sell our entire end-to-end product range,” he said. “We’ve made this decision now because we’re releasing the new version of XenApp 5 and a new version of XenServer 5, which really complement each other well.
“We’re very happy with both of our distributors and the structure we have in the Australian market.”
Last August, Citrix acquired XenSource for $US500 million.
