SmartyHost offers channel domain
SmartyHost has launched a domain registration package that promises good value-add opportunities for the channel, according to managing director, Anoosh Manzoori.
Following its accreditation last month as a seller of .au domains, the Web hosting provider has put together an offering that includes application programming interfaces (API) enabling the channel to customise and brand each service.
Manzoori said this would allow resellers to host new sites while seamlessly linking registrations back to SmartyHost.
He claimed SmartyHost could offer resellers higher margins because its domain registrations were 35 per cent cheaper than the market. The initiative would be supported by a new automated software system, providing 24x7 real-time processing of registrations.
The market had grown substantially as prices fell since the ending of Melbourne IT's monopoly on registrations, Manzoori said.
It was being driven by a combination of domains required for brand protection and the broadband boom that had fuelled user access, he said.
The Melbourne-based company has 20,000 customers in 15 countries including the US, Argentina and Africa. It expected to grow its own registration business by 25 per cent this year, Manzoori said.
