The 3Com AirProtect Wireless IPS extends the protection offered by wired firewall and virtual private network security systems but with a focus on wireless local area networks. These are of increasing importance in a world where the number of mobile workers continues to grow and mobility is extending beyond laptops to include devices such as Wi-Fi phones and other handheld devices. The AirProtect Wireless IPS has been designed to address security threats to corporate information brought on by increasing deployment of Wi-Fi networks.
