Datacom wins big with Aussie Home Loans

Datacom has been selected by Aussie Home Loans to be its IT operations supplier for the next three years. It replaces incumbent supplier and Telstra subsidiary, Kaz.

The contract was won in a competitive tender and will see Datacom provide a full suite of IT services to all Aussie Home Loans employees, Aussie Mortgage Advices and Aussie Home Loans Franchise holders. Services will include database administration, server administration and support, network management, datacentre hosting and desktop support.

Datacom NSW managing director, Mark McWilliams, said the contract came as a result of its purchase of Hansen Technologies last year. Datacom won the deal in a competitive tender.

"The acquisition gave us a much bigger scale to work with, helped us accelerate growth and opened new opportunities for revenue," he said. "Aussie Home Loans is a new client for us and it's safe to say the value of the contract puts them in the top 10 customers of ours."

The holistic IT share service being delivered by Datacom includes CA Service Desk and Call Management Platform, Aspect and Cisco Telephony, network services management, Spectrum network monitoring and real-time performance portals. Aussie has operations in all Australian capital cities and regional centres and more than 700 staff. The multimillion dollar contract opens up a number of sales opportunities for Datacom beyond the services, McWilliams claimed.

"I believe Aussie is planning an aggressive year, which presents a good opportunity for us to make further hardware and software sales," he said.

Datacom had also made a commitment to Aussie to improve the service cost ratio 5 per cent year-on-year, McWilliams said.

Between 30 and 40 per cent of Datacom NSW's revenue comes from finance-based clients, he said.
