WMworld is the larget annual (and only) industry conference dedicated to virtualization. The event is attended by IT professionals and executives, technology providers, industry experts, researchers and analysts from around the world. VMworld, in its fifth year, is expected to draw more than 12,000 attendees. What follows is a series of pictures straight from the big show. Maritz introduced the company's Virtual Data Center Operating System at the VMworld show in Las vegas Tuesday. It will ship in products next year and extends virtualization from servers to storage and networking devices. VMware's CEO made his pitch on Tuesday for a new type of operating system for the data center, and in the process assigned the "traditional OS" to the dustbin of history.
