Verbatim Announces Ultra-fast CompactFlash PRO Series

07 July, 2008 16:15:00

Verbatim, the storage media specialists, have expanded their range of CompactFlash Memory Cards with the introduction of the "PRO Series". The new high performance cards are designed for professional users and are available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities. The new Verbatim CompactFlash Memory Cards will be available from mid-July, with a 16GB model available later this year.

The PRO Series cards complement Verbatim's exisiting professional memory card portfolio, which currently includes Premium 4GB, 8GB and 16GB SDHC Cards, with a 32GB model arriving later in 2008. The Premium SDHC Memory Cards are in the highest speed class 6. They are particularly suited for professional digital photography, including continuous shooting, and for videography. These new high performance Memory Cards fulfil the growing global requirements for larger capacities and short transfer times for various applications.

The new PRO Series CompactFlash Memory Card range is designed to stand up to the tough demands of the everyday life of high-end professional photographers, who work under extreme conditions and place high demands on their Flash Cards. The read and write speeds of up to 45MB per second allow users to capture large amounts of picture data using rapid continuous shooting, and offer fast file saving and immediate access to saved pictures. Verbatim's 8GB CompactFlash Memory Card has the capacity to store up to 2000 photos in JPEG format at an extremely high resolution of 12,000 megapixels, or up to 200 pictures in file space intensive RAW formats (raw data). The Cards thus offer enough room even for fast picture sequences of up to six pictures per second, and make longer continuous shootings possible without having to change Memory Cards

"The Verbatim PRO Series is designed with high-end photographers in mind and meets the file capacity needs of high resolution digital cameras and high definition camcorders. With a file transfer rate of up to 45MB per second, which is equal to a DVD writing speed of 300x, it meets the highest speed requirements and is among the fastest cards on the market at the moment", said Tracy Myers, Verbatim Australia's Product Manager for Computer Accessories, Flash and Hardware.

Availability The Verbatim CF Pro Series will be available from Verbatim stockists nationally in mid July. Part numbers are as follows: 2GB CF Pro (# 47016); 4GB CF Pro (# 47017); 8GB CF Pro (#47018).
