Scheer success prompts Red Rock to expand relationship

Oracle specialist, Red Rock Consulting, has signed up to resell IDS Scheer business process management software across Australasia.

Red Rock co-chief executive, Jonathan Rubinsztein, said IDS Scheer's ARIS BPM software would now be resold by Red Rock as well as used internally and as a tool on Red Rock's own projects.

"It's an enterprise-level tool that integrates back into Oracle technology," he said. "From my perspective, it suits any customer who's looking at their processes and at managing them in a continuous implementation."

Rubinsztein said the standards-based software suited large companies with an annual turnover of $100 million or more that were trying to manage change.

"It's got good integration capability and the ability to actually modularise it and have reusable templates," he said. "I think it's more scaleable and more rigorous than some tools."

Oracle put it into some of its own OEM products, such as the Oracle Business Process Analysis Suite, he added.

As companies pushed further into service-oriented architectures they were increasingly seeking business process management tools, Rubinsztein suggested.

"We do a lot of complex integration on the Oracle platform using BPEL and the tool we use to power that process is ARIS from IDS Scheer," he said.

For IDS Scheer, which is headquartered in Germany, the channel is a way to push further into the business process management market. Pacific region managing director, Darren Covington, said the ARIS BPM application was about helping companies manage change and risk.

"Red Rock will enable us to further capitalise on the growing interest in process management," he said.
