D-Link strengthens commercial business

New recruit aims to gain business market share

D-Link has hired Mike Sadler as its A/NZ commercial manager.

Managing director, Domenic Torre, said the appointment was in line with the networking vendor's strategy to enhance its presence in the commercial space. Sadler will sit within D-Link's Business Solutions group and is tasked with building up its corporate, government, education and SME market share.

"Sadler's role is to hunt for and develop new business through the channel. He will also get involved in educating the market about the products we have to offer," Torre said. "We have probably underachieved as a company. We have a range of very competent and feature-rich switch products that the market isn't aware of."

Torre highlighted the switching and storage markets as growth opportunities.

Prior to joining D-Link, Sadler worked at Verizon as an Asia-Pacific product manager. He also spent 11 years at OzEmail as the product management and research director.

"We have a very channel friendly model and it's a combined effort of training resellers and engineers about the D-Link range so they can install and support products correctly," Sadler said.

Torre said he was looking for more pre-sales and sales staff in each state.

"We are still not finished and are looking for more people to enhance our corporate business space," he said.
